Disorderly Discourse is the personal journal of Colin Moffett, the VP of Digital Communications at Powell Tate — the Washington, DC based public affairs arm of Weber Shandwick.
This journal covers the role of digital communications and social media in informing public debate among citizens who have competing ideas and desires.
The Internet holds great promise in breaking down barriers to civic participation but it is fraught with pitfalls as well. This blog combines a hopeful enthusiasm with a healthy skepticism as it observes the shifting media landscape.
Topics will also occasionally wander to ideas around marketing, social media, society and the creative process.
The views and opinions expressed here are my own and not those of my employer. And of course I welcome feedback and disagreement.
